Welcome to my website
After a degree at Cambridge University I taught English and Latin for three years but, realising that my long held passion for carving needed to be developed, I studied carving at the City and Guilds of London Art School under William Wheeler. Since 1968 I have divided my time between carving wood and stone sculptures for exhibition or on commission and teaching.
In 1978 I was invited to return to the art school to teach part time in the carving department. I was head of department from 1985 until 1995 and I still teach there one day a week.
In 2003 for my teaching at Missenden Abbey Adult Residential College, Buckinghamshire, U.K.  I was the first recipient of the President of the City and Guilds of London Institute’s Award for Teaching and a Medal of Excellence.
